Softball Spring Season

Madison had a great season of softball and she was able to learn a lot.  We were so proud of her when she was able to hit a few balls that last couple of games!  She worked hard to learn the game and she had a lot of fun.  When her coach handed out awards, she was award the most spirit because she was always happy and had such a good attitude!

Daddy's Kindergarten Visit

Makenna's kindergarten class is learning about public servants and this week they learned about police officers!  Jacob was able to go in and teach the kids about what he does and he also got to show them all his cool equipment.  The kids (and Jacob!) had a lot of fun!  Afterwards, Makenna's teacher made sure to send home a thank you note.  So cute!!

Makenna's Seizures

It was two days after Emma had broke her arm and we were sitting down to eat lunch.  Jacob asked Kenna to give the prayer and she didn't respond to him.  So he asked again and I noticed that she was just staring and her head was twitching a little.  I told him I think she is having a seizure so he ran to her and began talking to her and then she came out of it.  We thought it was maybe just a fluke so we went on like normal.  Then, we went camping and it happened again when we were sitting down to eat.  When we got home and it happened a third time in the hallway with me, we knew something was wrong.  We informed the school about it on the first day back from Spring Break and they called me that same day and told me she had a seizure in class.  So we took her to urgent care and got started with the process of what might be going on with Kenna.  We were able to catch a couple of seizures on video while she slept but we weren't ever fast enough to catch the ones when she was awake.  As a matter of fact, we only saw the seizures enough while she was awake to become aware that they were happening and then we never saw them during the day again.  It was just enough of a blessing for us to realize they were happening.  Eventually we took her to get an EEG which was very interesting!  We had to keep her up and only give her four hours of sleep.  Luckily she had a seizure during the EEG so they could actually see one happening.  We had to wait to meet with the neurologist and when we finally did, he diagnosed her with childhood epilepsy.  For now, she is taking medication every morning and night.  Since she has been on the meds, we haven't seen any except the one time I missed a dose!  We will continue with the medicine and checking in with the neurologist for the next couple of years and hope that she will grow out of it!

Field Trip with Madison

I got to go on another field trip and this time it was with Madison!  We missed her field trip last year because we were both sick so I was so happy we were both able to go.  We went and saw the play Alice in Wonderland and then got to have lunch together with her friends.

Mother's Day

As always, I was completely spoiled for Mother's Day this year!  Jacob and the kids made me a wonderful breakfast in bed and Jacob found some really awesome gifts for me.  My favorite gift was a necklace that had the names and birthstones of my four kids.

Father and Son's

This was Jacob's first time taking Lincoln to the annual Father and Sons campout!  They had a lot of fun together and it was so special that Jacob was able to officially go for the first time with his own son since he didn't get to do it with his dad.  Lincoln loved it even though Jacob said it was a little rough sleeping with him in the tent!

Mother's Day Tea

I was really spoiled this year and got to attend two different Mother's Day Teas!  One was with Madison and one was with Makenna.  We had a wonderful time!  I loved watching them sing and then sitting and eating a refreshment with them.  I felt so special and loved!
