Roller skates!

Our neighbor got some roller blades for Christmas and ever since then, Emma has been dying to get a pair of her own.  Madison really wanted some roller skates as well so we told them we would pay for half of them if they could earn the money for the other half.  They worked really hard doing some extra chores and finally had enough money to buy some.  (We bought Kenna some skates too so she wasn't left out.)  This is the first time that they tried using them.  They only needed the brooms that first day and after that they figured it out and they have been doing really well.  Grandma got to enjoy the fun as well!

Paint Night

For MaryBeth's birthday I thought it would be fun to buy us tickets to go to Paint Night in Riverside.  It was so much fun!  MaryBeth, Mom and I enjoyed dinner together and then we sat together and learned how to paint.  It was so interesting seeing how different all of the paintings were even though we all had the same instructor.  This is something I would definitely love to try again!

Valentine's Day Date

Normally Jacob and I don't make too big of a deal out of Valentine's Day.  He has to work on it a lot and we tend to make it more family oriented anyways.  However, this year he totally surprised me and took me to the Mission Inn for a little get away.  He had it planned for a little while so it was unfortunate that we were both not feeling very well the day of.  We still enjoyed a wonderful dinner but we were in bed and sleeping by 9:30!  However, it was amazing to sleep all night without any interruptions AND wake up when we felt like it.  It was so nice that we hardly remembered to take any pictures.  It's also noteworthy to mention that Jacob loves ice cream before bed so he decided to splurge and get room service.  When all was said and done, that ice cream cost $15!  Lesson learned!  Love you babe!

Happy Valentine's Day

We always love to do a little something for the girls on different holidays.  For Valentine's Day, they woke up to pink pancakes and a fun little surprise for them.  We also got to cook and decorate cookies with some of our neighborhood friends.  Since Jacob had to work, these little cuties were my date for the night and we watched a movie in bed.  I love my family!

Emma as Betsy Ross

Emma had a history project at school where she had to pick a famous person and then make a poster all about that person and present it to the class.  She picked Betsy Ross so we dressed her up and went to school to listen to her presentation.  We also got to enjoy Emma's class perform a song at the morning assembly and watch Emma play her beloved tether-ball with her friends.  Emma is really shy so we were really proud of her for getting up and presenting her poster to the class.

Volunteering at School

I've said it  before, and I'll say it again.  I love being able to volunteer at the girl's school.  It gives me such a wonderful opportunity to be a part of fun days like this!  Papa Murphy's does a really cute program where they teach the student's how to make pizza and then they get to eat it.  Emma was so excited that she brought her own apron so her teacher made sure to choose her to help.  They even got a certificate afterwards for a free pizza.

I also got to help Maddie's class with their 100 day celebration.  I helped them make necklaces with 100 fruit loops, stamp 100 dots on a paper and share the 100 items that they brought.  I love being there for my girls.
