Madison Brooklynn Bock

Announcing the arrival of our beautiful Madison Brooklynn Bock! We had a c-section scheduled for June 17th at 11:00 am and it couldn't have gone better. My last c-section did not go so well so I was a little nervous but it went as good as it could have gone. They had me ready to go by 11:30 and Maddie was out at 11:43 am. She weighed 8 lbs 5 ounces, was 20 inches long and only had 10 toes. (For those of you who don't know, Emma was born with 12!) I guess I can thank Jacob for such big babies since Emma was 1 ounce more! We stayed in the hospital for only two days and we have now been home enjoying life with two daughters. Jacob has been an amazing husband taking care of all three of us and I get to enjoy another week with him still! We are so thankful for our beautiful girls! (On a sidenote, I know I look like trash in the one pic I am in but it was our first family pic and only 5 hours after I got out of surgery so cut me some slack!!)

You can't go through summer without enjoying some time in Grandma's pool! It was a lot of fun this year with Emma because she would actually play in the water! She had her own little floaty that she used to float around with and would even jump off the edge to Daddy. We enjoyed this time with her before little Maddie arrives. (Hence....no pictures of mommy because she was nine months pregnant and no longer fit into a maternity bathing suit!)

My sister MaryBeth threw me an awesome baby shower! There was yummy food, an egg hunt, and a relay race with a quarter between the knees! It doesn't get any better than this! I loved all of the presents and was so thankful for everyone that came and showed their support for our new little one's pending arrival!

Maddie's Room

Well, we finally finished Maddie's room! Thanks to Jacob who thought of everything and then did everything. A lot of good pregnant mommy does!! We absolutely love her room and the way everything turned out!

Easter Time!

This Easter was a lot of fun because it was the first year that we could do something fun with Emma. We got her an Elmo easter basket with some books and things in it. (She can't have the candy because of the milk allergy). She really loved it and was so excited when I brought it out. Then we went over to my mom's house and had a little Easter egg hunt with some eggs that I found that have fruit snacks in them. I was so excited when Emma actually figured out what you were supposed to do and she had fun walking around with daddy picking up eggs and putting them in her basket. I am thankful for my little family and the many memories that we are creating together!

Youth Conference '09

This year Jacob and I decided to become youth conference parents......something we have been wanting to do since we got married. It was so much fun! The first night was a talent show that each ward did an act in and some were pretty funny. Then we finally got to meet our kids, after being there for four hours!! We were blessed to have 8 girls in our family: Mary, Hailey, Jenessa, Megan, Samantha, Selena, Estefanie, and Jackie. We were also paired up with two other families in our ward which made it so much fun! The next day we headed up to Camp Emerson in the freezing cold mountains for some EFY type workshops!! It was around 37 degrees when we got up there and it continued to get colder. We were supposed to be there until about 9 at night so I was getting pretty concerned. However, at lunch they told us it was just too cold and we headed back down the mountain to finish the workshops at the stake center. The talks that were given were really great and my favorite one was the "Purity Suckers". You'll have to ask one of the youth for an explanation on that one but it was great. That night we had a fireside with the Stake Presidency and then we were able to go home and have some fun with the other families. If you have ever played silent football then you will know that laughs that we had (more the adults than anything!). I still continue to laugh when I think of Wes. The next day was a service project at a special needs school. Our girls did really great helping out wherever they could. My husband was a huge help as well, as usual, which was great considering I did absolutely nothing but take pictures. After the service project we went home and had a good time watching the girls get ready for the dance. Let's just say it took us the whole 3 hours to get all girls showered and ready! Jacob really enjoyed all of the craziness in getting ready because it reminded him of growing up with all of his sisters and the chaos that ensued there. Then we had a special dinner that recognized some people in the community. It was really cool to hear all of the youth sing the youth conference song for these non-members. It was not cool that we were the last table to get our dinner and they had run out by then so we got half of a meal. Thank goodness that Mary loved her pregnant mom enough to give her some of her meal!! Finally it was the dance and it was a lot of fun to see our girls having a good time. Of course the boys were asking them to dance left and right because they were so cute!! We were sad to say goodbye to our girls but we know we'll see them around. We can't wait until next year!!

Sea World

CAVA (the school that I work for) does a Sea World outing every year and we thought it was the perfect opportunity to take Emma! Let me tell you....it was quite hilarious! Emma was so scared of every single animal we looked at except for the penguins. Any time we would get any where near an animal, even those on the other side of the glass, she would start screaming. So we thought we would take her to the dolphin show and try that out....it didn't work either. We sat way in the back but anytime a dolphin would jump out of the water, she would start freaking out. I finally had to leave while dad watched the rest of the show. Needless to say, we won't take her back for a little while! But I think she still had a fun time! Looking at the beluga whale.
