Elder Heward Visit

Elder Heward is definitely one of our favorite missionaries that we have had.  Every once in awhile we get to go and meet him and take him out to dinner.  We love Elder Heward!

Awards and New Teachers!

Madison and Makenna both received awards this month!  They are both doing really great in school and Kenna even got an award with her bestie Tatum.  Madison had a bit of a change when her teacher had to leave school for awhile and she got new teachers!  She is now in a class with Mrs. Christensen and Mrs. Street.  We really like her new teachers so we know it is going to be a great year!

Emma's 2nd Surgery

Emma's second surgery came with only one day's notice!!  We were planning to have the surgery in December but the opportunity came to have it in September and get it done and over with.  The nurses were so amazing during this surgery.  Emma had her stuffed zebra with her and they made sure to give her an IV so that she could match Emma.  Then, they let Emma take the zebra into surgery with her and she came out with a matching cast!  It really helped to put us all at ease.  The surgery went great but the next day Emma had some sort of allergic reaction to something and her face swelled up.  We gave her Benadryl and watched her for a day but we ended up taking her into urgent care and we got some stronger medicine to help.  It eventually went back to normal but we still aren't positive what she reacted to.  Now she just has to wear a brace for six more weeks and this whole fiasco will finally be over!

Emma's 10th Birthday!

I can't believe that Emma is in the double digits and turned 10!  Instead of a party, she took her sister Madison, cousin Rylee and friend Sydney to get nails done and have lunch together.  They had a great time and they loved getting spoiled at the nail salon! Here are 10 things about Emma:

1. She has to have a headband in her hair everyday and she likes to do her own hair.
2. She started reading Harry Potter and loves it so she loves all things Harry Potter now.
3. She loves to read and got a book light for her birthday so she can read in bed at night.
4. She does not like wearing dresses anymore and only likes to wear a t shirt and jeans most days.
5. She likes to wear bracelets or hair bands on her arm everyday!
6. Her favorite food is pretty much chicken cooked any way: fried chicken, italian chicken, roasted chicken, etc.
7. She is learning to bake and cook and enjoys helping me in the kitchen.
8. She loves pancakes and french toast and would eat them every day for breakfast if she could.
9. She is really great at helping with her siblings by bathing them, dressing them, getting them food, or anything else that I ask.
10. She loves people and would prefer to be hanging out with friends any day over doing anything by herself.

Oak Glen

We decided to go up to Oak Glen and enjoy some beautiful fall scenery!  Apparently, everyone else thought the same thing!  It was so crowded!!  It was fun to see everything and try all of the delicious apple treats but I don't think we will go again on the first day of fall!
