Easter Block Party

We live on a really great street and we absolutely love all of our neighbors.  We even have block parties!!  This is from our Easter block party.  Tessa (one of our friends who works for Brookfield) did an amazing job putting it together.  There was a ton of food, an Easter egg hunt, crafts for the kids, facepainting and even a proposal!  Here are some cute pics of my girls.

Lincoln's First Bath

Just needed to get a quick snapshot of Lincoln's first bath.  As you can tell, he loved it!

Easter 2014

This year Easter was only a week after Lincoln was born so luckily it was pretty easy.  We had both grandmas over for dinner and the girls enjoyed their Easter baskets as well as an Easter egg hunt.  We were also able to go to church together as a family since Jacob was on leave for Lincoln so it was extra special!!

The Story of Lincoln's Birth

We had a scheduled c-section for Lincoln but I wasn't sure we were going to make it!  I had contractions for a good two weeks before we had him and at one point we did make a run to the hospital. But he decided to wait until his scheduled time so he arrived on 4-14-14.  We got to the hospital at 6 am and got prepped for surgery.  My doctor was late because his daughter was sick and he got stuck in traffic so it was kind of funny. This was my fourth c-section so I was feeling pretty relaxed considering.  I walked into the operating room by myself with my surgical team (Jacob can't come in until later).  I really loved my surgical team and they made the whole process a lot easier.  My anesthesiologist was a super cute girl who sang me Frozen songs to help me stay calm.  My surgical team got me ready and then Jacob came in right when they were ready to go.  My last c-section went really well because I asked them not to give me any extra medicine so that I was alert after the surgery.  This time I did the same thing and was just fine as long as I kept my oxygen mask on.  The time came for them to pull Lincoln out and he was crying nice and loud to let me know he was ok.  However, when they wrapped him up and brought him over to me, I started talking to him and he stopped crying immediately.  I know he knew it was his momma!!  After surgery they took me to the recovery room and I got to hold Lincoln pretty quickly.  Later at the hospital, they did an ultrasound of his kidneys and they were totally normal so we were really thankful!!

Decorating Easter Eggs

Since I just had Lincoln a few days ago, my neighbor Kim was awesome enough to plan an activity where my girls could dye some Easter eggs.  They totally loved it and had a lot of fun learning to dye eggs with Daddy.   We had a block party earlier in the day so they look a little frazzled and tired from all of the fun!!

Maddie's Preschool Easter Egg Hunt

I got to preschool just in time to see Maddie's class doing their class Easter egg hunt.  It was fun to be able to watch her run around and get all of her eggs.  And she looks so cute in those bunny ears!!
